The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) is an advanced exam appropriate for people who use English for professional or study purposes. Our prep course covers all of the areas of knowledge tested in the CPE exam:

  • Detailed overview of the 5 CPE Exam Papers: Reading, Writing, Use Of English, Listening and Speaking.
  • Orientation in each part of each exam paper.
  • Structured methodology for building vocabulary, with a strong emphasis on exam taking confidence, covering common topics from the CPE.
  • Focus on lexical problem areas such as Collocations, Idioms, Word Formation and Phrasal Verbs.
  • Constant focus on applying knowledge gained to the relevant exam part(s).
  • A few examples of the advanced grammar topics included: Tenses, Passives, Conditional Variations, Non-finite Clauses, Phrasal Verbs, Linking Phrases.

About the CPE Exam

What is the CPE exam comprised of and how long is it?

  • There are five sections to the CPE: Reading, Use of English, Listening, Speaking and Writing.
  • In total the exam takes 6 hours to complete.
  • Recommended level: C2.
  • Maximum score: A grade.
